Getting the eBooks loaded
on your Apple iPad or iPhone

These same instructions will work on an iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone. (From now on we will use the term iPad to refer to all of these devices.) If you don’t feel comfortable dealing with computers, it may be beneficial to get someone who is, to help you do the install. There are multiple ways of doing most of these steps. If you have Internet access directly on your iPad click here: iPad has internet access .

If not go here: Internet access is only available through your computer

iPad has internet access:

There are three different choices for eBook apps on your iPad; the Apple iBooks, Amazon’s Kindle, and Barns and Noble’s Nook. Each choice has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Apple iBooks

This will be the most common choice for most people on the iPad and iPhone 4 or 4s. It is easy to find and download the app and the sermons from the Apple iBook store, because you can purchase the books from the app.

Amazon Kindle app

Kindle is a good choice if you already have a Kindle reader or an account with Amazon. It is also a fast reader even on older iPhones. It is a little more cumbersome to purchase the sermons because you have to purchase them on your computer using your Amazon account and the Amazon website, but the Kindle app will find them and download them automatically once you set it up. If you have an amazon account you should know how to do this.

Barns and Noble Nook app

The Nook is a good choice if you don’t have access to the internet. All Barns and Noble stores have free WiFi in the store. They also have someone that can help you connect to the WiFi. They sell their own tablet called the Nook but they may help with the process of loading the Nook app and the sermons if they are really nice. Sermons can be purchased from the web site using your computer or at your local book store using their WiFi.

The first step is to create an iTunes account if you don’t have one, so you have access to the eBook reader apps in the Apps Store. Touch the App Store icon to open it. Follow the directions to create a new account if you don’t already have one, or sign in if you already have an account. You are ready to use the App Store. Search for the app title in the App store, by typing in the title of the app you want. Type iBooks, Kindle, or Nook depending on which app you want. Follow the directions to download and install the app.

Internet access is only available through your computer:

Steps in the process:

  1. Choose an eBook Reader
  2. Setup your iTunes account
  3. Load the eBook app on your iPad
  4. Buying and Loading the Sermons Using iBooks.

Load The eBook Reader App on Your iPad

If you don’t have WiFi then you will need to sync your iPad to a computer that has Internet access.
